Not sure what car seat or crib to get? We sought the input of 200 sets of parents aged 20-45, asking for their favorite brand and valuable insights on factors to consider when making your choice. I did not include Other responses if it was because the response was "unknown" or generic like "Amazon."
We currently do not receive any money or incentives from any of the following brands for recommending them.
Cribs
Developmental Fact:
Babies can start to experience separation anxiety when they realize people and objects exist even when not in sight. This is most common between 8 months and 12 months, however, it can start happening as early as 4 months old.
Helpful Tip:
Opt for a crib with two solid sides. Having a crib with two solid sides makes it easier to slip out of the room when putting your little one to bed or after feedings without upsetting them.
Cribs with at least 2 Solid Sides
Alternative to Snoo
The Snoo Crib only lasts for the first 6 months of a baby's life, and while the Cradlewise all-in-one smart crib is just as expensive as Snoo, it claims to have more features and work from 0-24 months old. It also has a 100 day risk-free trial.
CradleWise Features
-Sound Machine with white noise options- bluetooth controllable
-Baby Monitoring System with Night Vision and alerts when not in app
-Bassinet to Crib Conversion- works with 0 to 24 month old babies
-Bounces to sooth your baby in both bassinet and crib modes
-Sleep Insights and Analytics
Baby Strollers
Developmental Recommendation:
Babies should not be in their car seat more than 30 mins at a time in order for proper lung development to occur. While this can't always be done, the Doona makes it a lot more tempting to leave your child a in carseat for too long, too often.
Helpful Tip:
Choose a stroller that fits your lifestyle. Do you walk a lot or use it more for shopping? Do you travel a lot? Think about where you usually go.

Developmental Recommendation:
Keep your child in a rear-facing car seat for as long as possible. Recent studies highlight the increased safety benefits of keeping a child rear facing, even up to the age of 4. According to the Department of Transportation, children should stay rear-facing until they reach the highest height or weight limit stipulated by the car seat's manufacturer, typically ranging from 35 to 50 pounds.
